Scaring Away The Buyers

Have you had a Burnaby, British Columbia house on the market for a very long time and don't know why it hasn't sold yet? We're not talking a couple of weeks or anything like that. More like months and months. There are a lot of reasons why a piece of Burnaby or Markham real estate might stay on the market longer than intended. It might be that you are scaring away the buyers, either unknowingly or on purpose. There might be some hidden red flags in your property that you are unaware of but buyers are.

What could some of those potential red flags be that are scaring off potential buyers? Physical damage that you can't see is one. All homes or condos need some repair or renovation work. Unless it's a brand new Burnaby home or 761 Bay street condo. Sometimes you can't catch everything. For instance there might be a tiny hole in the roof that you might have missed which potential buyers noticed and became afraid of because they think the entire roof might need to be replaced.

If a buyer goes to see a home and notices that a lawn has not been maintained, branches are falling all over the place and shrubs are growing at a crazy pace out of the garden, they might not want to step foot in the house because they are afraid of what's inside. Condos in Burnaby or condos in Edmonton don't have to worry about such problems as they have someone in charge of routine maintenance. Buyers will think to themselves that since the outside of the home is a mess, the inside could have a whole whack of problems that they don't want to bother dealing with. You might not think it's a big deal to mow your lawn because you're selling the home, not the grass, but it could be a hidden red flag. Any Burnaby or North York real estate agents will advise you on keeping up interior and exterior appearances.

As a home owner, you should be aware of what's going on in your neighbourhood. Such as whether or not a school or department store is being built nearby. Potential home buyers are looking to buy homes in a tranquil neighbourhood and if there's a vacant lot nearby that's going to be home to a future noise making site, they'll just move along to the next home. Nobody wants to buy a Burnaby or Toronto loft if it's not going to be in a peaceful area.

These are just a few hidden red flags that you might not be aware of that are potentially scaring away buyers. Try to look out for them and see if they have anything to do with why your Burnaby home or condo isn't selling.
